Sure, you can talk the talk, but do you think you have what it takes to beat offbeat, ChypsAhoy or wacy1? Test your luck and your hand in our next Leaderboard Championship Event. All you have to do is play like a pro and you might just find your way onto our monthly leaderboard. The 1,200 top-qualifying players will go head-to-head in April’s championship tournament for a chance to be named The Club’s Leaderboard Champion…and for bragging rights, of course!

Here is what our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners had to say:

Gold Winner - offbeat

"I come from a family of avid card players, and grew up playing cards—poker, spades, and Bourré. Almost every time that more than three of our family members get together you can expect a game to break out! We’re loud and competitive but we have a good time together. I’ve enjoyed online gambling for years but my job is one where I have to make sure I’m on the right side of law, so it’s important for me to know that I’m playing legally. My brother mentioned The Club one day when we were playing at home and I’ve been hooked ever since!

The format of a monthly fee means you’ll be playing with individuals at all sorts of skill levels, so it’s been a challenge compared to cash games where you can (to a degree) limit some of the more “liberal” types of play by playing for more money. But poker is a game of skill, and skill will prevail over luck in the course of most games. Still, I think we can all learn by playing against a variety of skill levels.

My favorite part about The Club is the tournaments that reward the more advanced players by requiring a higher minimum buy-in. The Big Spender is one of those tournaments but one of my recommendations for the future is for The Club to hold an Ultimate Big Spender type tournament that requires a buy-in of at least 10K in tournament points! My favorite tournament is the monthly Tournament Leader Board (TLB) championship. By simply enjoying a few games of poker each week, which I do anyway, and by managing to remain as one of the top 200 players on the TLB, you have the opportunity to be invited to the Gold Level TLB Tournament. There you’ll find an entire field of skilled players playing in a way that is more reminiscent of cash games.

I’ve played in two Gold Level TLB Tournaments so far, coming in 2nd last month, and 1st this month! They’ve been fun games with skilled opponents, and while I’m sure my winning streak may come to an end soon enough, I know they’ll still continue to be my favorite games."

Silver Winner – ChypsAhoy

"Thanks to The Club for having a great poker site and for putting together the Gold, Silver, and Bronze TLB events. I've been playing at TheClub for close to a year now and have really enjoyed the practice and experience I’ve gained as a member. I feel that even though I was very lucky in the last two hands of the Silver tournament, it was my experience and practice that got me to that point. My hat goes off to all the players that made it to the final table. It was truly some tough competition!"
